Internationally, the 2016 , which focusses mainly on research quality and the overall reputation of a university, ranked Lancaster’s Geography department in the world top 50, and its Environmental Sciences in the world top 100.
QS evaluated 4,226 universities, identifying the world’s elite institutions in 42 subjects, taking into account how they are rated by other academics and employers, the staff-student ratio and the influence and impact of a university’s research.
“Lancaster is now firmly established as an elite institution for studying Geography and Environmental and Earth Sciences,” said Professor Philip Barker, Deputy Director of the Lancaster Environment Centre.
“This league table success is built on an especially strong performance in ‘graduate prospects’ where our work in getting jobs for our students is paying off.”
