Dr. Richard Jiang is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the School of Computing and Communications at 糖心视频, UK. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College. His research resides in the fields of Novel Computing and Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on Quantum Neural Computing, Post-Quantum Computing, Brain-Inspired Computing, and Trustworthy AI.

Dr. Jiang has secured over ?1 million in competitive funding from EPSRC, the Leverhulme Trust, international agencies, and industry to advance frontier research in AI and quantum computing. He is recognised for pioneering single-qubit and hybrid quantum neural models on NISQ devices, establishing new pathways for resource-efficient quantum learning from real-world data. Through sustained collaboration with leading international researchers, he has contributed to shaping next-generation explainable AI (XAI) towards trustworthy and human-centred systems. In medical computing, he introduced Face2Brain, a novel framework for non-invasive neurodegenerative assessment, alongside explainable precision models that enable deeper understanding of brain function and ageing. His earlier work on encrypted pattern recognition, grounded in many-manifold learning, has laid foundations for post-quantum approaches to secure and interpretable data analysis.

Dr. Jiang has supervised and co-supervised more than 20 PhD researchers, with over 10 successfully completing their doctoral studies, demonstrating sustained commitment to research training and capacity building. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading AI venues, including NeurIPS, CVPR, IJCAI, AAAI, etc.. In addition, he contributes significantly to the international research community through service on editorial boards, programme committees, and regular reviewing for major journals and conferences, reflecting recognised expertise and academic leadership in the field.
