Profile

I am an NIHR clinical lecturer and General Practitioner. My research explores the practical ethical questions that arise in healthcare practice and policy, with a particular interest in social justice and fairness in health and healthcare. Whilst I have wide-ranging interests in bioethics, my work focuses on two main areas: environmentally sustainable healthcare and ethical issues at the end-of-life.

I completed my PhD in August 2025, funded by the Wellcome Trust, which examined questions of distributive justice arising from efforts to decarbonise healthcare. My research has explores how healthcare systems can respond to climate change fairly, including the responsibilities of healthcare organisations and the ethical challenges faced by clinicians in practice.

I am also interested in the ethical issues that arise at the end of life. I have a particular interest in assisted dying, as well as inequalities at the end of life.

Alongside my research, I am an associate editor at the Journal of Medical Ethics and a member of the Institute of Medical Ethics Education Committee.
